Volunteer in the Gardens

Anderson Japanese Gardens offers an opportunity for those with a passion for the outdoors and Japanese culture to participate in its daily operations. The Docent Program consists of a diverse group of dedicated individuals who bring a unique mix of personal experiences and professional backgrounds.  Volunteers serve as Garden Docents, tour group leaders and office assistants.

Ongoing training and education throughout the season

Interest in the outdoors and helping others

Opportunity to learn about the Garden and Japanese culture 

Ability to walk and climb stairs and stand for several hours at a time

Group social events throughout the year

Flexibility to work occasional weekends, evenings and holidays

Ability to understand and speak English
