The Anderson Japanese Gardens Summer Internship Program

Anderson Japanese Gardens partners with the University of Wisconsin’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences to offer a summer internship to students in the fields of landscape architecture, design, management and garden construction. The summer-long internship program offers students the opportunity to participate in all aspects of garden maintenance and management.

 

The 2014 recipient, Lily Mank, recently completed her undergraduate studies in the fields of landscape architecture and zoology, and is pursuing a career n the realm of therapeutic landscape architecture. Lily holds a certificate in healthcare garden design from the Chicago Botanic Garden, and wrapped up her internship with a report on therapeutic gardens. She completed her senior capstone project at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, which offers treatment for people with eating disorders, OCD and anxiety, depression and addiction. She was recently recognized by the University of Wisconsin as one of their Top 15 Graduates of 2015.
