This is an exclusive opportunity to enjoy a high-end traditional Japanese sushi meal (Kaiseki Zen) created by Chef Chitose Tsutsumi, owner of Taka Sushi in Naperville, Illinois.  Kaiseki Zen is a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner and is analogous to Western haute cuisine.

Guests will be escorted to Anderson Japanese Gardens’ 16th century sukiya style Guest House from the Visitor Center.  Before the meal begins, there will be a brief tutorial on traditional Japanese greeting and dining etiquette.  Chef Tsutsumi will be present throughout the meal, providing further explanation with each course.

Chef Chistose Tsutsumi was born in Sasebo City, Nagasaki prefecture of Japan.  He was trained by master Japanese chef, Koganei, in Fukuora Japan, and came to the United States in 1985. Since that time, he has worked in high-end restaurants in New York City, Los Angeles and Tucson. Chef Tsutsumi settled in the western suburbs of Chicago in 1994 and opened Sushi House Wheaton from 1999-2015.  He assumed ownership of Taka Sushi in June 2016 and it opened in August of that year.
